{"id":1554,"date":"2014-10-10T14:29:09","date_gmt":"2014-10-10T18:29:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/margotspizza.com\/?p=1554"},"modified":"2018-05-10T23:55:17","modified_gmt":"2018-05-11T03:55:17","slug":"pizza-lunch-danny-meyer-marta-martha-washington-hotel-roman-pizza","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/margotspizza.com\/blog\/2014\/10\/10\/pizza-lunch-danny-meyer-marta-martha-washington-hotel-roman-pizza\/","title":{"rendered":"Weekly Pizza Lunch: Marta"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My <a href=\"http:\/\/margotspizza.com\/category\/other-peoples-pizza\/\">#weeklypizzalunch<\/a>\/#Kubslunch this week was with my friend and former <a title=\"MSLO INC\" href=\"http:\/\/www.marthastewart.com\">MSLO<\/a> colleague <a title=\"CBS News\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/videos\/internet-dating-when-youre-a-super-recognizer\/\">Jennifer Jarett<\/a> at Marta, Danny Meyer&#8217;s new Roman-style pizzeria in the &#8220;NoMad&#8221; neighborhood&#8217;s Martha Washington Hotel.<\/p>\n<p>The mushroom pizza here is OFF THE HOOK \u2014 if people still say that (I don&#8217;t think they do). I&#8217;d almost consider adding chanterelles to <a title=\"Funghitown\" href=\"http:\/\/margotspizza.com\/triple-mushroom-pizza\/\">my own mushroom pizza<\/a> IF they weren&#8217;t so expensive and a pain in the ass to clean. The sausage on the Salsiccia is a trip down memory lane \u2014 like the stuff from Little League pizza lunches at a &#8220;pizza parlor.&#8221; The crust is exceedingly thin (about 170 grams for a pizza that&#8217;s about 12 inches or so) and shatteringly crisp around the edges, presumably a nod to Danny Meyer&#8217;s St. Louis upbringing, where cracker crust &#8220;St. Louis\u2013style&#8221; pizzas are common. I&#8217;d love to see him make another nod to STL with a provel-topped pizza.
